Understanding hospice & palliative support

Hospice is the end stage of care for a terminal illness, when treatment options have been exhausted and the focus shifts from cure to comfort. It emphasizes spiritual well-being and quality of life, not just for the individual but for the whole family. Conditions that may lead to hospice include cancer, stroke, heart failure, kidney failure, and chronic lower respiratory disease.

The goal of hospice is to relieve the stress of illness so the focus can shift toward closure. That means managing discomfort, providing gentle personal care, and creating space for families to be present with their loved one. It is a deeply human time, and the right support can make it more peaceful for everyone involved.

Our role in hospice is non-medical. We work alongside your hospice provider, handling personal care, companionship, and daily tasks while the hospice team manages medical care. This partnership allows families to focus on what matters most: being together.
